The Wolf and the Crane

Once, a wolf was eating food when a bone got stuck in his throat. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get it out. He was in desperate need of help. He went in search of someone who could remove the bone. He met a fox and requested help, but the fox couldn’t reach it. Then, he met a crane and requested for help. He said that he would reward the crane. The crane took out the bone easily. “Now, give me my reward,” asked the crane. “You put your head in my mouth, and I didn’t kill you. That is the biggest reward you could ever receive from me,” said the wolf.

Moral: Gratitude and greed do not go together.
