The Oak Tree and the Bamboo Tree
Once upon a time, in a quiet forest, there stood a mighty oak tree and a humble bamboo tree side by side. The oak tree was proud of its strength, boasting, “I am sturdy and strong, nothing can harm me!” The bamboo, slender and flexible, said nothing but swayed gently with each breeze.
One day, a violent storm swept through the forest. The wind howled and the rain lashed at the trees. The mighty oak tried to resist, standing straight and firm. The bamboo, however, bent with the wind, swaying and bowing until the storm passed. The force of the storm was too strong, and with a thunderous crack, the oak fell to the ground
When the calm returned, the bamboo was still standing, untouched by the tempest. The bamboo looked at the fallen oak and said softly, “Sometimes, strength comes not from resistance, but from flexibility. By bending, I survived the storm while you attempted to fight it.”
Moral: True strength lies not always in standing firm but in adapting and being resilient when challenges arise.
